Purpose

 

The purpose of the Society is to advance the science of mammography, to assist in establishment and maintenance of high standards of education and training, to elvate the quality of patient care, and to assist the mammography technologist in fulfilling continuing education requirements as required by the state of Washington, the American College of Radiology, and FDA / MQSA regulations

 

Membership 

 

The membership of this Society shall consist of voting members, non-voting members, and student members. All candidates for membership shall submit the properly completed application form, along with required membership dues and shall furnish any additional information as may be required

 

Voting Members

 

 Voting members, hereafter designated as Members, shall be those radiologic technologists who hold certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and hold membership within the society. Additional membership with the American Society of Radiologic Technologist is encouraged, but not required.

 

Non-Voting Members

 

 Non-voting members shall be those persons who are interested in promoting the purposes and functions of the society, but are not eligible for voting or student status. These may be other healthcare professionals such as nurses or physicians who are involved in mammography practice. They shall have all the privilages and obligations of Members, except the right to vote an hold office

 

Student Members

 

Student members shall be those students who are enrolled in a training program accredited by the Committe on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA), or in a state approved program. Eligibility for this category shall terminate six months following graduation, or discontinuation of such training. Student members shall have all the privileges and obligations of members, except the right to vote and hold office.

 

Voting Procedures

 

The society shall adopt balloting by mail or by majority vote at it's meetings, as best meets the need of the society, and are applicable to the business to be conducted. Nominations or volunteers will be taken for open offices, with voting to take place at the September meeting
